If this is your first time working with Meg Barge Photography, you might have a few questions about your client experience. The information below will give you an idea what to expect in your session with Meg Barge Photography
What specials do you offer?
I offer a 10% discount on full sessions to all return clients as a thank you for your loyalty! I also offer mini sessions several times a year to appeal to those interested in the short and sweet session! I always offer active-duty military a 10% discount on all sessions–THANK YOU for your service!
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept online credit card payments for all deposits, as well as credit card payments or check for your final session payment. Cash is not accepted. Each client is sent an online invoice and payments can easily be made through that online invoice.
How long is a session?
Family, Senior and Maternity sessions are 45 minutes up to 1 hour. Lifestyle Newborn Sessions are up to 1-2 hours in length.
What should I bring to my session?
You are more than welcome to bring a special memento, blanket or small prop if you prefer! I come prepared to our session with a few small complimentary items keeping in mind to capture you in the most natural way.
Do you use props or poses for newborn sessions?
My newborn sessions are lifestyle sessions, focusing on capturing your family with little to no props or posing. Two packages are available to book—either a Fresh 48 session at the hospital after birth or an in-home lifestyle session 5-10 days after birth. Both sessions focus on capturing your growing family in natural settings focusing on relationships and that fresh love. I may pull out a few small items to capture your little one in their bassinet, nursery or crib but overall the focus of these sessions is to capture your family in a relaxed manner.
Should I bring treats for my kids?
If there is a special toy or treat your children prefers, please bring along if you wish! I encourage you to please not bring chocolate, large or chewy candy. I always have my bag of treats and fun surprises ready to go for each session! If your child has a favorite song, saying or that special something that always brings a smile, please let me know ahead of time so we can prepare best for those moments!
What should I wear?
I encourage each client to wear what they are comfortable in and fits their own personal style. I recommend staying away from matching outfits, rather choosing complimentary outfits in 2-3 similar color schemes that blend together! And don’t worry—when booking a session with Meg Barge Photography I’ll be sending you detailed information on outfit ideas, suggestions and tips!!
Why do you schedule sessions at near sunset or sunrise? My kids might be cranky!
I understand! As a mom of two, I know getting off our schedule can be tough and takes a lot of preparedness. I schedule sessions for sunset and sunrise time frames because this is when the best light of the day is available. Have you seen those photos where people are squinting or half of a face is shadowed? This can happen when images are taken in full sunlight. I have found that the best background, light and images result from these timeframes and I want you to have that beautiful sunset glow to your photos! I prefer my images to reflect my style and want this for you! Yes, this might have to mean some extra planning (later nap times or a later dinner, lots of snacks, etc) from you but I promise the end result will be those beautiful sun-lit images that show off beautiful evening or early morning sunsets and sunrises!
What will my session be like?
Meg Barge Photography guarantees a fun experience for all during your session! We will meet, get to know each other and off we go! Mom and Dad, don’t be surprised if I address and chat with your little ones right away—years of experience have taught me that building a rapport right away with your littles is key to an easy-going session! We will have a fun time exploring our location, playing games and stopping for some posed photos throughout our session. I like to offer each session a mix of posed and un-posed images to decorate your wall with. You won’t even know we are capturing those important, intimate moments while we are having such a fun time!
What happens after my session?
You will be provided with a what to expect informational card explaining the process of receiving your images after your session. Session images are delivered to you within 10-14 business days in a digital gallery. Full sessions and mini-sessions vary in the number of images you receive, as well as the final delivery process and your informational card will be certain to explain the process to you. You are always given the opportunity to purchase prints as that perfect gift for your family or to document your sessions on your walls! As always, I am always here to answer any questions you may have!
You are licensed and insured, what does that mean?
Meg Barge Photography is a licensed, insured and permitted business. This means that I have insurance coverage for my business, my equipment and my clients while we are shooting. This is my top priority to provide safety, precautions and to ensure my clients that I am always doing my best to place priority on keeping safety and business ethics in my business practice. I am licensed with the city, state of California, as well as permitted to sell client digital images, prints and session costs. Additionally, I am permitted to shoot your sessions at several locations in the area. Each location requires a permit to legally shoot in that area. For you this means we will not be stopped mid-session and asked to leave a location and that we are being ethical as a business in offering you the best quality! You can be at ease knowing your session will go smoothly and there will be no issues with payments, your images being protected, our session location or legality business issues within our session!
Why do you encourage purchasing prints?
I encourage all my clients to purchase prints through your final gallery! Why? I do this because I know you worked so hard to get your family ready for our session, put together your outfits, ensure all were fed, well rested and ready to go. Prepping can be hard work for mom and dad (believe me, I know!!) and with all your hard work I think it is so very important to ensure your images are not just left sitting on a file on your computer. I hope all my clients will get their photos off their computers and up on their walls. Frame those images, display them, show off your beautiful family! You invested in your session financially and with your time and effort. I hope you will proudly display your images capturing this moment in time, those smiles and the memories made having your portraits taken! Plus, prints make great gifts! Grandma always loves those portraits of everyone smiling and our walls deserve to show off those moments of your family being just as they are!
